About The Father’s House Trust

The Father’s House Trust (FHT) was established by Dr Mark Stibbe in 2008 with a vision to eradicate fatherlessness across the globe. FHT is a Christian charity, consisting of a dedicated team of paid and volunteer workers based in Watford, UK. We are passionate about bringing an end to fatherlessness in the UK and overseas, both through our own projects and through working alongside others who share our vision.

We believe in the message of Jesus, that God is the perfect Father and that he wants to reveal his love to everyone, especially those who are without dads (Psalm 68.5-6). We hear many stories of people from all backgrounds who have lacked good fathering. All have been negatively affected by this, many finding the effects lasting into their adult lives, and even affecting their ability to parent well. FHT seeks to be part of the solution, to help people understand their value, celebrate their identity and experience healing from past hurts.

About our Vision

We believe we have been called to a number of key areas:

Seeing the church healed and reformed
We believe that the Fatherhood of God is the premier message of Jesus. We therefore want to see the church fully receive and embrace the love of the Father, and then to carry this to their families, communities and beyond. We want to work particularly with leaders, across denominations, who will then work with their teams, churches, towns and cities and nations to see transformation.

Working with leaders
We believe we have a mandate to support leaders in many fields, including business, politics, the church and other sectors. We do this through providing regular input through teaching and resources. Our schools and retreats give an opportunity for leaders to learn and experience more about the key messages of FHT and leadership.

Influencing the Seven Mountains of Culture
We believe we are called to promote the cause of fatherhood and to address issues of fatherlessness within the seven mountains of culture. We class these as: Government, Media and the Arts, Education, Economy, Family, Religion, Science and Technology. We want to help leaders in each of these areas to address fatherlessness within their areas of influence, and also resource grassroots work through developing material for work in prisons, education, youth work and more.

Serving the Poor
We are thrilled that we have been given the opportunity to help and support various organisations which provide practical help and support to orphans, particularly in Africa. While we cannot be there day after day, we will do all we can to help those who have committed their lives to provide care, support, respite and love to children who have never known their parents.

About Dr Mark Stibbe

Mark was ordained in 1986, and was most recently the senior leader of St Andrew’s, Chorleywood for 12 years, until leaving to start FHT in 2008. His passion for the cause of fatherhood and the issues around fatherlessness arise from his own experience of being orphaned when he was a baby and subsequently adopted. This has given him a unique perspective on the deep wounds caused by fatherlessness. Becoming a Christian in 1977 also gave him a unique appreciation of the Christian understanding of God as a loving Father who wants to adopt people into his family.

He is a prolific author having published over 30 books, on faith, film and the fatherhood of God. Much of Mark’s recent writing concentrates on fatherlessness, especially From Orphan to Heirs, The Father You’ve Been Waiting For, and most recently I Am Your Father: What Every Heart Needs to Know. Since setting up the Father’s House Trust, Mark has travelled all over the UK and throughout the world speaking about issues relating to the Father’s love for the fatherless. He is also a popular conference speaker and leadership consultant in the UK and overseas.

"The message of the Father's love has burned in Mark Stibbe's heart for years. This is one of the most important and profound messages of our day, and is sure to be a central part of what God uses to bring healing to the body of Christ. I celebrate his commitment to champion this word to the church worldwide."
Bill Johnson

"There are those who come along once in a life time with a message that is so lifechanging that it becomes your life message. Mark carries this anointing with his message of adoption. Every person who has ever been born is looking for a place in their father's Heart. Mark helps you to find that place."
Patricia Frost

"Mark Stibbe is an amazing and inspiring communicator. We have been so encouraged by his input at Worship Central. His message to communicate the Father's love to the fatherless generation is both timely and profound."
Tim Hughes
